Description
Description
This is a traditional tea utensil used for whisking matcha.
Each chasen is handcrafted, so the appearance, texture, and pattern may vary from piece to piece. Please note that each item is unique.
*Material
Bamboo
Made in China
*Care Instructions
Not dishwasher safe
The included case is for transport only. Do not store the chasen while damp, as this may cause mold.
Before First Use
1 Rinse with water
Before using a new chasen, gently rinse the tips in a bowl of water.
2 Pre-soak in warm water
After rinsing, place the tips in warm water.
Doing this before each use helps soften and open the bristles, making it easier to whisk matcha.
After Use
・Rinse immediately in a bowl of lukewarm water by gently shaking the chasen
・If residue remains, remove it carefully with your fingers
・Do not use detergent or scrubbers, as the chasen is delicate
・Do not soak in water for extended periods
After rinsing:
・Shake off excess water
・Gently wipe with a cloth
・Air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area
Leaving moisture on the chasen may cause mold, so ensure it is fully dried.
Once dry, store the chasen on a holder to help maintain its shape.
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from temperature and humidity changes.
Note
The chasen is a consumable item.
With continued use, the bristles may wear down or break.
Please replace it when multiple bristles become damaged.
