Recycled ceramics

Used ceramicware is very difficult to recycle or upcycle in general and they just go to landfill. Some mills in Japan invented to recycle them, make clay and produce new ceramicware. It gives used ceramicware a second life. This is a concept of TRIPWARE - traveling vessels.

People and earth friendly design

Some plates are designed to use as a lid and it helps reduce the amount of plastic food wrap when you have leftovers. It is amazing for both people and the earth to use sustainable and functional tableware for years.

Recycling System

Pot clay is an essential raw material used in the production of pottery. It is a limited natural resource formed by the earth over time and once fired, does not biodegrade even after thousands of years. To reduce waste and make better use of limited resources, companies in Tajimi, Japan, a region famous for ceramic production, have voluntarily collaborated to build a porcelain recycling system.

Manufacturers in Tajimi set up locations where consumers can bring any used or damaged tableware. After the collection, everything is ground with a special machine, only two in existence in Japan, to 1 mm or less. The ground recycled materials are then combined with clay at a 20% ratio. This will be reused in the production of ceramicware.

Color and Design

TRIPWARE has a simple and functional design that complements every dish. It has five natural colors and a couple of sizes available and you can mix and set with plate, bowl and lid.

Some plates can be used as a lid for bowls and you don't need a plastic wrap when you keep leftover in fridge.
